| Update on Mumbai serial blasts |
| Update as at 01:00 AM, on serial blasts in Mumbai: • Union Home Minister Mr. P Chidambaram has already reached Mumbai and visited the blast sites at Kabuttar Khana in Dadar and Opera House and he is now visiting the third blast site at Zaveri Bazar. • It has so far been confirmed by the Mumbai Police that 17 persons have died and another 132 persons are injured as a result of these blasts. These figures are subject to change on the basis of further verifications and confirmations. • All injured were evacuated swiftly to 11 hospitals within an hour of the incident. While some of them were discharged after the initial treatment, serious ones have been shifted to the bigger hospitals. • A 6 members NSG post blast investigation team has also left for Mumbai. |
